CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic. CEREC allows dentists to computer generate teeth or parts of teeth that need to be replaced.
The computer-aided system combines 3D software, CAD/CAM technology and a milling machine to create natural-looking dental restorations with optimum speed and precision.

Whether you’re having a crown, inlay/onlay, or fixing a cracked tooth, a CEREC dentist can finish the treatment in a single visit. This contrasts with the conventional method, which typically spans several weeks and involves multiple dental appointments.
How does it work?
Your CEREC dentist employs a 3D imaging camera to take pictures and scan your mouth, precisely capturing the dimensions and shape of the tooth in question. This creates a detailed optical impression, which is then transferred to a computer for additional design refinements and adjustments.
Your dental expert utilizes specialized design software to sculpt and enhance the digital image, ensuring that the restoration fits seamlessly into its exact spot and aligns perfectly with the surrounding structures of your mouth.
Once the design is approved, the information is sent to a milling machine that carves out the restoration from a ceramic block. This final restoration can be crafted in approximately 15-30 minutes and is ready to be placed as a crown, inlay, or veneer.
We’ll check the restoration to ensure it fits well and matches your natural tooth color. The outcome is a fantastic dental restoration that resembles and feels just like your own natural teeth.

Had 2 visits in a week to Happy Smiles with an infected tooth. Was able to get in on a cancellation appointment both times which was great as I was in a great deal of pain. Prahshant examined and an X-ray was taken of the tooth. He explained what had happened and the options available to me and then explained in detail my treatment plan ( I opted to have the tooth extracted as it had already had a root canal and crown procedure done over 10 years ago elsewhere)
Did not feel the “bite” from the needle given to deaden the area and once the procedure began it was painless and finished before I knew it! The procedure went smoothly.
Cannot recommend Happy Smiles highly enough for their dentistry, friendly and caring team who were re-assuring.
